Established in 1979 by Texas entrepreneur Pat Molak and his business partner Mary Jane Nalley, the eatery is housed in the former Fincke Meat Market near the Pearl district. Known for its simple yet classic concept of "Steaks and Whiskey," Josephine Street has become a beloved institution. Molak's commitment to quality was unwavering, as recalled by Molak Corporation CEO Ryan Weinbrandt, who shared how Molak meticulously tested every steak to ensure they met the restaurant's high standards. The restaurant also boasts a 500-year-old oak tree inside, symbolizing its deep connection to history and heritage.
Josephine Street’s menu features signature steaks, including T-bones and ribeyes, alongside a popular chicken fried steak plate for $13.95. The steakhouse also offers a wide selection of Texas-distilled whiskeys, such as Rebecca Creek and Garrison Brothers, with a whiskey flight for $25. In addition to steaks, patrons can enjoy margaritas, sangria, or wine during daily happy hour.
