Lovers Pizzeria Brings Its Signature Poblano Pizza to San Antonio’s Midtown

Lovers Pizzeria has quickly made waves in San Antonio’s Midtown after reopening on February 1, with its 16-inch sourdough pizzas drawing lines out the door daily. Housed in a charming green building adorned with a neon sign and mural reading "Pizza is for lovers," the pizzeria offers an intimate atmosphere with just a handful of tables. The must-try menu item? Lovers’ signature poblano pizza ($26), featuring a unique green pepper sauce that delivers a rich, creamy flavor distinct from traditional tomato-based pies. Co-founder Dusty Dworak personally serves guests, reinforcing the handcrafted, artisanal feel of the restaurant. While the price point leans higher—starting at $22 for a cheese pizza—the quality and attention to detail make it well worth it. For those looking to beat the rush, arriving early is key, as Lovers Pizzeria has been selling out regularly. Whether dining in or grabbing a pie to-go, this pizzeria is proving that great pizza truly is for lovers.

New Braunfels’ Hungry Waffle Brings a Sweet and Savory Twist to Classic Sandwiches

The Hungry Waffle food truck has officially opened in New Braunfels, serving up unique waffle-based creations that blend breakfast favorites with savory sandwiches. Co-owners Jennifer Casillas and Adam Tekin were inspired by the community’s craving for waffles and crafted a menu featuring Liege, Belgian, and bubble waffles. Their standout items include the Waffle Burger, packed with seasoned beef patties and a signature special sauce, and the Philly Cheesesteak Waffle Melt, where tender steak and peppers are sandwiched between crispy waffles. Despite nearly giving up after losing $50,000 to a failed food truck deal, the couple persevered to bring their dream to life. Originally planning to open a restaurant, they opted for a food truck to introduce their concept to the Texas Hill Country. Since launching on January 12, the Hungry Waffle has gained attention for its high-quality ingredients and creative menu. While they hope to open a brick-and-mortar location in the future, for now, fans can visit the food truck at 1760 S. Business I-35, New Braunfels. Check their Facebook page for updated hours, as they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
