San Antonio's hospitality group Empty Stomach, known for popular spots like Hot Joy, Double Standard, and Rumble, has made its New York City debut with a new wine bar concept called Plus de Vin. Located in Brooklyn, this natural wine bar opened its doors on Monday, August 12, and is a collaboration between Empty Stomach’s Chad Carey and longtime friends Carenn and Max Mackinnon. Carenn, a seasoned wine director and sommelier, and Max, a chef and partner at NYC’s Libertine, bring their expertise and passion to the project.
Carey expressed his excitement about working with friends on this venture, highlighting their shared love for natural wine and a desire to make wine and food experiences fun and unpretentious. While this is Empty Stomach's first venture outside of San Antonio, Carey remains open to future collaborations, wherever they may lead. Excited to see how this new wine bar will fare in Brooklyn!
