Amazon Buys 560K-SQ-FT East Side Warehouse

San Antonio’s East Side is gearing up for another wave of growth and this time, it’s led by one of the biggest names in global commerce. Amazon has officially purchased a massive 560,000-square-foot warehouse at 810 Rosillo Creek Boulevard, setting the stage for a significant expansion of its local operations.
The warehouse sits inside a 341-acre industrial park originally developed by Milam Real Estate Capital. Property records list its value at $38 million, and Amazon’s investment is only beginning. The company has already filed plans for a $61 million renovation projected to be completed by April 2026, signaling that this East Side facility will play a major role in Amazon’s growing logistics network.
A New Operations Hub for San Antonio
Although Amazon says planning is still in its early stages, the company confirmed that the building will serve as a new operations facility. According to filings with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the renovated space will support a wide range of functions, including:
-
Receiving and storing products
-
Preparing orders for distribution
-
Shipping and delivery operations
-
Handling grocery and liquor items
-
Serving as a customer pick-up and drop-off site
This versatility mirrors Amazon’s ongoing efforts to streamline delivery times and expand access to fast shipping in major Texas markets — especially as demand for online shopping continues to grow.
A Strategic Location Near Future Drone Operations
The Rosillo Creek warehouse sits just 3 miles from Amazon’s existing fulfillment center on Cal Turner Drive, which is expected to launch a drone delivery center later this year. Property records indicate that drones will also be housed at the newly purchased site, further positioning San Antonio as a key player in Amazon’s next-generation logistics strategy.
This facility adds to Amazon’s already strong presence in the region, which includes:
-
Fulfillment centers on the West Side, Schertz, and San Marcos
-
A sorting center on South Callaghan
-
Multiple delivery stations across the metro area
With the addition of this East Side operations hub, Amazon’s footprint in San Antonio is becoming even more robust bringing potential job opportunities, technological expansion, and long-term investments to the area.
