Cult SoCal Boba Chain Opens First Texas Location in San Antonio

by Tre Serrano

San Antonio’s food scene is about to get a sweet new addition. Los Angeles’ cult-favorite boba chain, It’s Boba Time, has officially chosen the Alamo City for its first Texas location. The highly anticipated shop will open its doors on August 6 at The Vineyard Shopping Center (1201 N Loop 1604 W #117).

Founded in 2003 by Angeleno Eunice Pak, It’s Boba Time started as a small storefront but quickly grew into a West Coast phenomenon. With locations in California, Nevada, and Arizona, the San Antonio outpost marks the beginning of the chain’s nationwide expansion.

“We’re excited to bring the It’s Boba Time experience to San Antonio,” said a brand representative. “This city has such a strong food scene, and we’re thrilled to be part of it. Texas has been asking for us, and we heard you!”

The menu is as expansive as it is customizable, featuring more than 140 items. Customers can sip on everything from classic milk teas to smoothies, slushes, and fresh juices. For those craving something beyond boba, It’s Boba Time also serves açai bowls for a refreshing treat.

Known for its Instagram-worthy drinks, the chain keeps up with viral flavor trends. Expect to see creations like layered strawberry matcha milk tea and a Dubai chocolate frappe topped with pistachios making their way across San Antonio social feeds.

To celebrate the grand opening, the shop will treat its first 100 guests to free regular-sized drinks. Guests can also score limited-edition swag, including keyrings, hats, and tote bags, with purchases.

While the San Antonio location hasn’t confirmed its hours yet, most California stores stay open until at least 9 pm, giving locals plenty of time to grab their boba fix.
