The highly anticipated, revamped Rosarios is almost complete with plans to reopen in early March. This much anticipated upgrade from the previous location on South Alamo Street comes after the eatery closed permanently in November. The new 25,000-square-foot two-story building features indoor seating, outdoor patio areas, and landscaped courtyards for guests to enjoy. However, the highlight of this new eatery is the 5,000-square-foot rooftop bar with stunning views of the downtown skyline.

The grand opening celebration will also include a 24x69 foot mural painted last fall by renowned local artist Lisa Wong. The mural pays homage to San Antonio's rich cultural heritage and reflects the restaurant's commitment to providing fresh Mexican cuisine with regional flavors and ingredients. Wong has owned and operated the eatery since it first opened in 2007.

With a few last-minute renovations still needed, Rosarios is said to be the largest new restaurant in Southtown. Guests can expect an expansive menu of Mexican classics with a modern twist along with craft cocktails and extensive wine selection. The new Rosarios will undoubtedly be a destination for locals and tourists. The ground level dining room will feature a menu centered around Rosario’s favorites such as shrimp nachos, fish tacos, ceviche, enchilada plates and sizzling parrillas. The restaurant will also offer “a few new menu items,” but those were not disclosed in the announcement. The new Rooftop space will admit those 23 and up and will offer small bites and a dedicated bar.

Just last year Wong was granted permission from COSA to complete work on the adjoining building. Now named after Wong's late Mother “Casa Isabel was built in 1860 and has been lovingly restored as part of our commitment to celebrating San Antonio’s unique culture and heritage," she said. "It's now surrounded by a large garden that not only provides fresh produce for our dishes but also serves as a reminder of how much this city has grown over the years."

Now, more than ever, visitors can continue to explore and indulge in San Antonio’s unique culture. With Rosarios’ grand opening just around the corner, it is sure to become a landmark that locals and tourists alike will remember for years to come.
