San Antonio’s Comfort Cafe to Be Featured on America’s Best Restaurants

Comfort Cafe, a donation-based eatery that supports individuals in drug and alcohol recovery, is set to be featured on the TV show America’s Best Restaurants. With locations in San Antonio and east of Austin, the cafe operates under the nonprofit Serenity Star, employing program enrollees and graduates while offering meals on a donation basis. Beyond its mission, Comfort Cafe is widely praised for its hearty breakfast, brunch, and lunch menu, creating a welcoming space where recovery and community come together.

Producers of America’s Best Restaurants were drawn to Comfort Cafe’s unique approach to recovery and service, leading to the upcoming feature. Show host Luis Rivera will visit the Leon Valley location at 6812 Bandera Road on February 28 to sample their offerings. While the episode's air date has yet to be announced, co-owner Rosie Lopez expressed excitement about the opportunity to share the cafe’s inspiring story with a wider audience.
