Taco Cabana's 45th Anniversary Celebration: New Menus, Salsa Bars, and Fiesta Fun

by The Cavalry Realty Group

Tacos are a San Antonio Staple and everyone knows Taco Cabana has been a reliable source for great tacos.

This month, San Antonio's beloved Taco Cabana will mark an impressive 45 years in the business. From innovative menu additions to the highly anticipated return of in-store salsa bars, the festivities are in full swing. Adding to the excitement is a lively party hosted at one of its Alamo City locations.

Starting September 6th, the Tex-Mex gem, which originated from a single store at the intersection of San Pedro and Hildebrand avenues, will unveil a trio of delectable limited-time menu items. Enthusiasts can savor the mouthwatering Hatch chile smoked pulled-pork tacos in two distinct variations, accompanied by triple-chocolate cookies. As a toast to the jubilant spirit, Taco Cabana will serve its signature Vodkarita, crafted with Tito's Handmade Vodka, in an impressive 24-ounce cup.

A noteworthy milestone, Taco Cabana will also reintroduce salsa bars across all its outlets. These beloved bars, absent during the pandemic, enabled patrons to concoct personalized blends from a selection of red, green, and fire-roasted salsas, along with garnishes like pico de gallo, fresh onion, cilantro, and lime.

On September 21st, the festivities will culminate in a birthday fiesta at the 2347 E. Southcross Blvd. store location. The event will feature the TC on Wheels food truck, treating attendees to complimentary samples of Hatch chile smoked pulled pork street tacos and triple-chocolate cookies. Attendees can revel in games, giveaways, and a live mariachi performance, with the celebration running from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m.

As September 25th coincides with National Quesadilla Day, Taco Cabana is set to unveil its Frito Pie Quesadilla. This delectable creation boasts two flour tortillas filled with a delightful blend of melted Monterrey Jack and cheddar cheeses, chile con carne, Fritos corn chips, pico de gallo, and jalapeños. Not to forget, it comes paired with a generous side of queso—a truly irresistible indulgence.

Founded in 1978, Taco Cabana has expanded to encompass 143 company-owned restaurants across the expansive state of Texas. This landmark anniversary is a testament to their enduring commitment to bringing Tex-Mex excellence to countless delighted patrons.
